What directed Vikram Sarabhai to discovered Isro?

Following the launching of Russia's Sputnik satellite, Sarabhai believed that the need for India to have an area service too. He convinced that the Indian authorities to Begin the Indian National Committee for Space Research (Incospar) programme with another quotation:

"There are those people who question the significance of space activities in a growing country. To us, there's absolutely no ambiguity of function. We don't have the dream of competing with all the economically advanced countries in the quest for the moon or the planets or manned space flight. But we're convinced that if we want to play a significant role nationally, and at the community of states, we have to be second to none in the use of innovative technologies to the real issues of society and man "

His dedication and vision resulted in the institution of Inscopar throughout the Nehru government.

Important donations of Vikram Sarabhai from the area on science and space

Vikram Sarabhai assisted Homi Bhabha install India's initial rocket-launching channel, which was constructed at St Mary Magdalene Church near Thiruvanathapuram. The first flight was a sodium vapour payload and has been started on 21 November 1963.
